Happy Christmas Everyone!

Last night I ate & drank to excess with the Kanekos.

To be honest, I don't think I've ever celebrated Christmas Eve with as much of a feast in the US as I did here last night -- we had Roasted Chicken, some sort of grilled chops, an eggplant, tomato sauce & cheese casserole, taco salad*, and an incredible chocolate & strawberry cake!
Also, there was loads of beer & Eiji's grandmom even broke out her secret stash of wine for the occasion!

**here "Tako" is octopus, and it had shrimp too
**note to Marr: Unlike George Martin, I didn't mention every spice on every dish, nor the color of the wine or the location of where the eggplant was harvested, and I think it made for a better & more readable blog post. If anyone needs more detail, let me know... but I will have forgotten by then! Ha ha! Merry Christmas & Happy belated Tenno Tanjobi!

Also, I now refer you all to the blog of a Moffett to read about coming here & see some Japan photos & in the "photos" section there's a good & quick video (with sound!) that captures the excitement of the Emperor's Birthday - he's 74 & going strong into the 20th year of his reign!
