Update

All is well here in Tokyo.
I've started actually teaching, and thus far it is going smoothly.
Also, today marks a rite of passage for me -- like most Tokyo residents, I can now claim that I've completely passed out on a train home & missed my stop (only by one, so the inconvenience wasn't huge!)
Also, I picked up my Foreigner Registration Card today (about a 30 min walk to the Bunkyo Civic Center -- which is right next to Tokyo Dome), so now the accouterments of life will follow (ie- bank account).
