More maps!

Here's where I'll be living soon

I'll be back in the neighborhood of Nezu, in the Bunkyo ward of Tokyo (just 2 blocks from my previous place). Above is the building, and I'll be on the top floor of it with the little balcony.
Of course, more updates will be coming as I get things together.

Since I'm getting pumped up about returning to Tokyo, here's a detailed google map (with points of interest marked and commented on by me).

Walking around Tokyo

With my return to New Jersey nearing, I've been spending lots of my free days just walking around areas that have become familiar to me.
Here are a few snapshots of things I passed today.

First, the statue of Takamori Saigo (the last samurai) in Ueno Park

Here's a shot of the logo of one of Japan's most common shipping companies -- I see this everywhere, so figured I should document it. This was in Hongo (between Nezu and Tokyo Dome)

Then, I walked along to see the Dome area -- always kind of relaxed & peaceful feeling there when no baseball games are going on. Here are images that note when the Dome, or "Big Egg", was built -- surprisingly in the shape of a star of David.

Harf & Harf

Check out the 3rd drink under "Beer"
I suppose that it's one harf Guinness and one harf lager :-)

Behold!

The rumors of this elusive melon are confirmed!
I found this in the basement of the Odakyu department store in Shinjuku!
